GOLD LAKE

A Brooklyn-based dream pop outfit with a knack for pairing breezy, vintage Laurel Canyon-inspired West Coast retro-pop with moody, modern shoegaze, Gold Lake originated in Spain, when vocalist Lua Rios and guitarist Carlos Del Amo met at a Madrid night club. They relocated to Brooklyn and released their debut album Years on Outside Music.

Now they are back with a new album, Weightless, co-produced by Aaron Desser and Chris Taylor and mixed by Phil Ek. First song, Hidden Lovers is now out!

Years garnered attention from the media with radios like KEXP and KCRW playing their music, Spin Magazine premiered their single calling it "majestic", as well as seeing some great reviews from the likes of Clash Magazine, Filter, Impose, etc... who thought We Already Exist was "of Divine Inspiration", "Effortlessly beautiful", "Wow, producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes) has done it again. Gold Lake is unreal". SPIN:

"Majestic". "We Already Exist," an airy reverie that also bears Ek's fingerprints, a woodsy, driving rhythm that's bolstered by singer Lua Rios' vocals, which sound like the stuff of Divine Inspiration." Clash Magazine: "Gold Lake are arresting from their name alone. In an era when guitar music fluctuates between dole- queue-realism and avant complexity, it's refreshing to hear something so effortlessly beautiful."
